




The Dutch Society for Immunology (NVVI) actively promotes and supports:
Excellence in immunological research, immunodiagnostic procedures and clinical immunological practice in the Netherlands. High quality of analyses of immunological parameters used in health care (for diagnostic purposes)
The societal position of the professional immunologist in all disciplines.
To achieve this, the NVVI organizes scientific meetings, maintains international contacts and has established a number of committees that regulate scientific, laboratory and clinical standards in immunology. The NVVI strives to provide input to national and international policies with the objective to strengthen the future of immunology in all disciplines.

Are you a Laboratory Specialist in Medical Immunology (Medisch Immunoloog) with the ambition to strengthen the connection between clinical, diagnostic, and research immunology in the Netherlands? The Board of the Dutch Society for Immunology (NVVI) is looking for a new member.
Our mission is to stimulate excellent immunological research and its application in clinical practice and laboratory diagnostics, and to promote the dissemination of knowledge about the immune system in health and disease. The society serves as an accessible platform for sharing information relevant to the field, fostering technological innovation, and supporting education and career development. In addition, the society promotes the interests of its members in the field of national and international science policy.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Medisch Immunoloog who can serve as a link between the NVVI and the Dutch Society for Medical Immunology (CMI).
The ideal candidate:
This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the integration of Medical immunology within the NVVI, to promote innovation in diagnostics, and to strengthen collaboration across the immunological community.
Eligibility
Applicants should be affiliated with a Dutch University Medical Center or diagnostic institute, and certified as a Laboratory Specialist in Medical Immunology in the CMI and member of the NVvI.

Join the Board of the young Dutch Society for Immunology (yNVvI)
Are you a driven early career immunologist (<10 years after obtaining PhD) with the ambition to promote the interests of young NVvI members at the national and international level? The Board of the young Dutch Society for Immunology (yNVvI) is looking for two new members.
Our mission is to bring together all young immunologists in the Netherlands and strengthen their research culture and science. In practice, this means that the yNVVI board members are representing all young immunologists in the Netherlands within the general board and program committees of the NVvI as well as in international immunological societies (EFIS & IUIS), and wherever we see opportunities for young immunologists. Moreover, we organise networking and career events at the NVvI Annual and Spring meetings to connect young immunologists in the Netherlands to each other and people in different career stages or trajectories.
Who are we looking for?
Candidates who obtained their PhD in the past 7 years (or are about to obtain their PhD) in a topic related to immunology. We are committed to diversity within the board, promoting representation of various university centers and regions within the Netherlands. Board members will be appointed for a 3-year term.
Eligibility
Applicants should be affiliated with a Dutch University or Institute, and work in the field of Immunology.

The documents for the upcoming Annual General Assembly (ALV) are now available.

All NVVI members are warmly invited to attend the ALV on
Wednesday, 10 December, from 12:30 to 13:15 in Boston 9 (during lunch).
We sincerely thank Janneke Samsom and Stefan Nierkens for their many years of dedication to the NVVI board.
As of 1 January 2026, they will be succeeded by Joke den Haan and Debbie van Baarle.
We are also pleased to announce that Marvin van Luijn will join as incoming secretary on 1 January 2026, in preparation to succeed Esther de Jong in 2027.
If members do not agree with these nominations, they may inform the Board at
