Mission statement

Missie
De NVVI zet zich in om, samen met haar leden, excellent immunologisch onderzoek en de toepassing hiervan in kliniek en laboratoriumdiagnostiek optimaal te stimuleren en verspreiding van kennis over het immuunsysteem in ziekte en gezondheid te bevorderen.

De vereniging beoogt te fungeren als een laagdrempelig platform voor de verspreiding van informatie relevant voor het vakgebied, technologische innovatie, educatie en carrière ontwikkeling. Daarnaast behartigt de vereniging de belangen van haar leden op het gebied van nationaal en internationaal wetenschapsbeleid.

Visie
Door de organisatie van wetenschappelijke congressen, het onderhouden van internationale contacten en de oprichting van commissies die wetenschappelijke, laboratorium en klinische standaarden vastleggen, beoogt de NVVI om zijn missie waar te maken. Daarnaast streeft de vereniging ernaar om kennis over het immuunsysteem voor een breed publiek toegankelijk te maken middels publicaties en (sociale) mediakanalen.

Mission
The Dutch society of Immunology (DSI, NVvI) is committed, in collaboration with its members, to optimally stimulate excellent immunological research and its application in clinic and laboratory diagnostics, and to promote the dissemination of knowledge about the immune system in disease and health.

The society aims to function as an accessible platform for the dissemination of information relevant to the field, technological innovation, education and career development. In addition, the society promotes the interests of its members in the field of national and international science policy.

Vision
By organizing scientific conferences, maintaining international contacts and setting up committees to establish scientific, laboratory and clinical standards, the NVVI aims to fulfil its mission. In addition, the association strives to make knowledge about the immune system accessible to a wide audience through publications and (social) media channels.
