NVVI Spring Symposium ‘Breaking new grounds in Immunology’
(Lunteren Symposium in the past)

March 21-22, 2024 - Van der Valk Hotel Tiel

The Spring Symposium of the Dutch Society for Immunology is held each year at the end of March. This two-day symposium has a more than 50 years long history and covers a broad range of immune-related topics. The Spring Symposium has a long tradition of hosting renowned international and national scientists that present their cutting-edge research.

About 150 - 250 Dutch immunologists from all stages in their career attend this symposium. Its low-threshold setup provides ample time for discussion with the speakers and other participants not only after the talks, but also during breaks, the dinner, and the ‘meet the speaker’ breakfast.

Young-NVVI organizes Career Development Workshop for young researchers

After many years of dedication to a PhD in the academic setting, many young scientists will eventually pursue careers outside academia, while only a minority will remain within the academic world. However, the opportunities for careers outside the academic environment are often unclear. Therefore, during the NVVI Spring Meeting, Young-NVVI presents a Career Development Workshop, specifically designed for young immunologists (e.g., PhD students and postdocs) considering a non-academic career or wanting to explore this topic further. The workshop provides participants with the opportunity to directly interact with professionals from various sectors and helps them gain insight into non-academic career options. During the workshop, three panelists will shed light on their career paths: editor (Science Immunology), scientist in the industry (StandardBiotools), and research coordinator at a foundation (KiKa).

Young-NVVI was established with the aim of bringing together all young immunologists in the Netherlands and strengthening their research culture and science by providing targeted information.
