The Dutch Society for Immunology (NVVI) actively promotes and supports:

Excellence in immunological research, immunodiagnostic procedures and clinical immunological practice in the Netherlands. High quality of analyses of immunological parameters used in health care (for diagnostic purposes)
The societal position of the professional immunologist in all disciplines.

To achieve this, the NVVI organizes scientific meetings, maintains international contacts and has established a number of committees that regulate scientific, laboratory and clinical standards in immunology. The NVVI strives to provide input to national and international policies with the objective to strengthen the future of immunology in all disciplines.

Description: Are you a dedicated researcher with a passion for immunology and molecular oncology?

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a creative colleague with extensive wet-lab experience and comprehensive knowledge in the field of immunology and molecular oncology. You have at least 4 years of postgraduate experience and a demonstrable affinity with supervising (PhD) students. As a team player in an open, collegial and inspiring research and learning environment, you will initially contribute to ongoing projects. Within the framework of the main line of research and at the level of Assistant Professor, you will be encouraged and supported to develop and grow your own independent research line over time. In your academic role, you connect people and ideas and make an active contribution to the further strengthening of the research line, the department and collaborations within and outside the UMCG. In addition, you are passionate about sharing knowledge and skills and motivated to further develop as a supervisor and teacher. In that context, you have the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ) or are willing to obtain it in the short term.

What will you do?
Based on your affinity for and expertise in immunology and oncology, you will be involved in scientific research within the research line of tumor immunology and lymphomas at the Department of Pathology and Medical Biology of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). Within the research line tumor immunology and lymphomas there are 4 staff members, namely an immunologist, two molecular biologists and a pathologist. This is a varied team with a lot of knowledge and expertise and extensive collaborations with, among others, the departments of Hematology, Medical Oncology, Genetics and several (inter)national research groups. The team focuses on fundamental and translational research with great enthusiasm, commitment and dedication. Application ends: 10-06-2026

Call for proposals for innovative research on lymphoma

Lymph&Co is happy to announce two calls for 2026.

1. Call for research proposals 2026

The Lymph&Co Foundation intends to fund one research project in 2026.

There will be a two-stage submission procedure for applications: pre-proposals and full proposals. The call opens on February 2. The deadline for submitting the pre-proposals is 8April 2026. The Scientific Board of Lymph&Co will carry out a scientific evaluation according to specific evaluation criteria. Based on this evaluation, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal (deadline for full proposals: 6 August 2026).

2. Paul Fentener van Vlissingen Fellowship (only for researchers residing in the Netherlands)

The fellowship supports the opportunity for a talented young researcher (below the age of 40 years and within 6 years of obtaining his/her PhD) to visit an internationally renowned research group in the field of lymphoma. The fellowship is intended to further the career of young researchers in basic, translational or clinical research residing in the Netherlands. The application should be supported by a recommendation letter from the head of the department the applicant is currently working. In addition, a letter of acceptance by the head of the host department is required and hosting teams are invited to submit their joint nomination together using the Paul Fentener van Vlissingen Lymphoma Fellowship application form available on the Lymph&Co website.

Deadline: 6 August 2026.
